How to make a window with reveal? / Jak zrobić okno z węgarkiem?

Wersja polska na dole strony.

It was the question I have been asked recently, so below you can read and see how to make it.
  1. Create new window family based on the window template
  2. Remove standard Opening cut that exist in the family
  3. Add reference planes that represents Reveal depth and length. Do it on Floor plan view and on exterior elevation view.
  4. Add parameters which will drive size of the reveal: Reveal Depth, Reveal Length
  5. Go to Exterior elevation view and set work plane to: Exterior
  6. Create Void Extrusion that is a rectangular shape and lock the sketch to Reference planes
  7. Set work plane to: Interior
  8. Create Void Extrusion that is a rectangular shape and lock the sketch to Reference planes
  9. Go to Floor Plane view - Ref. Level
  10. Drag end of both voids to the reference plane that represents Reveal Depth and lock them.
  11. Cut geometry of the voids out of the wall.
  12. Test what you have done and all you have to do is to add sash of the window.

Ostatnio pojawiło się pytanie o to jak wykonać okno z węgarkiem. Zamieszczam tu opis i krótki film instruktażowy jak to zrobić.
  1. Utwórz rodzinę okna na podstawie szablonu
  2. Usuń standardowy obiekt tnący ścianę: Opening Cut
  3. Dodaj plany referencyjne, które będą reprezentowały i sterowały głębokością i długością węgarka. Zrób to na widoku Ref. Level i Elevation Exterior
  4. Dodaj parametry, które będą sterowały rozmiarami węgarka: Reveal Depth, Reveal Length.
  5. Przejdź do widoku elewacji (Exterior) i ustaw płaszczyznę roboczą: Exterior
  6. Utwórz bryłę tnącą Void Extrusion o prostokątnym kształcie i przypnij kłódkami jej szkic do planów referencyjnych.
  7. Ustaw płaszczyzne roboczą: Interior
  8. Utwórz bryłę tnącą Void Extrusion o prostokątnym kształcie i przypnij kłódkami jej szkic do planów referencyjnych.
  9. Przejdź do widoku Ref. Level
  10. Przeciągnij końce obu brył tnących (Void extrusion) do planu który steruje głębokością węgarka i przypnij je do tego planu.
  11. Wytnij geometrę brył tnących ze ściany.
  12. Przetestuj, czy zmiana parametrów powoduje poprawną zmianę geometrii.
  13. Pozostaje już tylko dodać ramę okna.
